Activity of the Week
Rainbow Stew-
1 cup cornstarch
1/3 cup sugar
4 cups cold water
food coloring (red, blue, yellow)
Heavy Zip-Loc bags
Duct Tape
Mix cornstarch, sugar and water in large saucepan. Heat to boiling over medium high heat, stirring constantly. Mixture will thicken immediately upon reaching a full boil. Remove from heat. Divide mixture into 3 small bowls. Add a different food color to each bowl, mix well. Put a large spoonful of each color in the Zip Loc bags. Remove all air from the bags and seal. Tape the top shut with duct tape. Children squeeze the bag to blend the colors.
